Grey scale: Happy Bloody Valentine

This is not a Valentine hate art, but I admit this one is very bizarre for me.

I was constantly asked to draw a 'pairing' picture of Oliver and Astoria. For an explainable reason, I don't think they look good as a couple.

 

Well, you see, I was rather distracted. I was drawing when my brother turned the radio volume to loudest level and it played a very weird and furious song. He then, replay it over and over. 

Well, I don't sure what happened, but this thing happen.

It feature both bear eating each other's 'semi-flesh-robotic' heart. Please ignore that Oliver seems to eat Astoria's more, it was a mistake. They were supposed to eat each other's heart equally. I believe it means something about giving up some of one's vital personality to adapt to couple life and helping each other to survive through starvation.

Both of the bears' front side is full of noticeably insincere sweet decorations and lacking of those completely for back side. Please notice the space between them lack of fake decoration completely.

The toothy figures on their back ,formed a shape of heart with several 'blood(?)' stains, are supposed to represent their souls. I was being optimistic on them, letting their base of soul white instead of grey. Their soul are 'decorated' by the black marking, making them who they are. The blood(?) stains are coloured red inside the soul and black out side for visual effect and subtle meaning. This reflect to their robotic nature, out side of their society, they are viewed as 'machines', thus, the black oil blood and inside their own society, they regard themselves 'sentient', showed by the red blood inside.

Both shadowy figure still hold on their own heart soul, clean and intact.

These are just wild guess ,though. I am still confused.
